First, put the cards on the right side, ask the child to look carefully, then turn the cards over, open one of the letters, and ask the child to find the pair of that letter.
After finding the letter’s pair, ask the child to remember as many words as possible starting with that letter.
Keep the lowercase cards with you, and divide the uppercase cards equally among the children. Put one of the lowercase letters on the table, then players must quickly find the uppercase letter they have. You can play the same game with young children by focusing on the images.
Spread the pictures on the table. Set a stopwatch and ask the child to find as many pairs as possible in, say 10 seconds.
Ask the child to make up stories about the images.
